Dear Santa,

as you might know by now, oil-based materials are very much used among UL backpackers. And while I'm able to accept this for my cuben tarp, using a synthetic material as towel just somehow doesn't feel right. Imagine my relief as I found out that LOCUS GEAR from Japan actually offers towels made of a natural material which have a beautiful pattern and are light! They're called Tenugui and are made of cotton ise, a natural material, are wonderfully soft to the touch and a joy to look at. I imagine even my wife and kids would fancy each one of them, so beautiful they are. I'd love to get some for me and the family, so I hope you think of us when you're in Japan!

Best,

Dear Santa,

with my decision to start climbing, I'm also in need of some carabiners to secure gear to my climbing harness; and as I am also pondering hammocks at the moment, they could get used as a hardware solution to attach the the hammock's suspension with the tree straps. Mammut, the Swiss company which makes mountaineering and climbing equipment since a long time, make the Bionic Evo Key Lock carabiner, which should be perfect for my needs. It has a high breaking load capacity while being very light, and its nice colour also means it is easy to see in case it drops on the forest floor or when rock climbing. If you would drop a few in my stockings, I will make sure that a nice apple pie is waiting for you next year!

Dear Santa,

all work and no hiking make me a dull UL-Backpacker. I need something to keep my mind on the outdoors while I am at work, and what better if that something also could make me and others smile as well as keep my ears and head warm. I found out that Webtogs not only have superb customer service, no, they also have ace products. They have a wonderful, colourful The North Face Throwback Beanie which could do all of the above (smiles, warm ears and head, keep my mind on the outdoors while at work). And to help me being a better person, their thermo mug keeps my coffee hot and means I don't need to drink from disposable coffee cups at the office, saving resources and the environment in which I love to hike so much.

Best,
